Stay in the beautiful and romantic Sennowe Park, one of Norfolk’s most impressive large Edwardian country houses. It is still in private ownership and not open to the public.

The existing 18th-century house was transformed to a grand design by Thomas Albert Cook, grandson of Thomas Cook, the inventor of modern holiday travel. The house is the central focus of a fine sporting and agriculture estate noted for its conservation, woods and wildlife sightings of some 180 recorded species of birds.

Today it is home to his descendants, Charles and Virginia Temple-Richards, who will be your welcoming hosts during your time at Sennowe was originally designed to accommodate large house parties for hunting and shooting and this tradition is carried through into the 21st century with all modern comforts. The elegant reception rooms make for easy entertaining with all areas of the house available to guests. A formal dinner in the oak-panelled dining room, supper by candlelight in the 70ft flower-filled winter garden and time to relax in the library or Georgian drawing room will ensure the most convivial of stays.

Sennowe offers double and twin bedrooms to six couples, all with stunning views across the terraced gardens and park towards the boathouse on the park lake. Every bedroom has its own bathroom or shower room, several of which are richly decorated with Edwardian tiles echoing the Art Deco style.

A heated swimming pool is available in the summer for guests, together with year-round access to the gardens and parkland and the natural beauty of the lakes on this private estate.
